Project-Based Grant Writer


Position Summary: 

This position reports to and works with Westrick Music Academy’s Executive Director to ensure that all grant proposals are submitted in a timely fashion. While this position is currently project-based, it may grow for a more permanent position in the future.


Responsibilities:

• Draft compelling, well-written, polished narrative proposals, LOIs, reports and supporting documents as directed and/or based on the funding requirements of the Academy.

• Submit proposals to the Executive Director in a timely fashion for approval.

• Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.


Qualifications Required:

• Excellent writing skills

• Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources

• Multitasking, organizational and time management skills

• Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity

• Working knowledge of computers

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Grant writing experience in the arts world is preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process


Writer will be paid per project and on a sliding scale, based on the difficulty and size of the application. With a range of $500 - $1,000 per project.
